Jane Handcock is enchanted by a past love on her new single “Can’t Let Go,” out via Death Row Records/gamma.
Over a WhoInGodsName and Soopafly-produced groove, Handcock sings of late-night rendezvous with her ex. She knows he’s no good for her, but can’t seem to break from his spell.
“I know that you’re no good / For my mind, my heart, my soul / When you’re near / I walk into your room / My morals disappear,” she admits over a slinky bassline.
“I wrote a song called ‘Can’t Let Go.’ It’s about parlaying with my ex and not being able to throw him away. Sometimes when you’re this damn stingy, you just can’t let go,” Handcock exclusively tells Rated R&B. “Stay tuned for the full story on the album.”

“Can’t Let Go” is the second single from Handcock’s forthcoming album. She launched her new era in April with “Stingy,” also produced by Soopafly.
“It’s about parlaying with my sneaky link but actually realizing I caught real feelings for him. Now, I wanna be stingy and keep him all to myself. We’ll see how it goes,” Handcock told Rated R&B.
If one thing is clear, it’s that we can expect a lot of candid talk on Handcock’s upcoming project.
Earlier this year, the genre-bending artist appeared on Death Row’s compilation gospel album, Altar Call. The project included contributions from Jamie Foxx, Snoop Dogg, October London, Charlie Bereal, Jazze Pha and more.
