India Shawn has linked up with Lucky Daye for her new single “Cotton Candy Blvd.”
Over a sugar-spun backdrop by D’Mile and Chiiild, Shawn and Daye get lost in a sweet reverie where they entertain the idea of evolving from friends to lovers.
“Take me up on sweet lane / Down a sticky avenue / All the things that we can do / Won’t be long until we get to / Cotton candy, boulevard,” Shawn smirks in the chorus.
Daye responds, singing, “If this moment could ever be wrong / Right won’t sway my way and time couldn’t erase.”
“‘Cotton Candy Blvd’ is a summer night, a slow drive, and a long-awaited yes. I’ve been waiting just as long as the fans for this dream collab, and it delivers,” says Shawn. “There’s something magical about the way Lucky and I blended on the record.”
She adds, “The song is sweet, but it’s got depth – it’s the tension before the kiss, the invitation and the promise. When I sing ‘I’m more than ready to love,’ I mean it.”

“Cotton Candy Blvd” continues the story Shawn started with “Kill Switch,” her first single under D’Mile’s VANTA Music. The latter track, also produced by the Oscar winner, was released in June.
“‘Kill Switch’ is an unexpected shift, as I move away from the familiar shadows of unreturned love and reclaim the power to decide my own fate,” explained Shawn. “It’s a song about recognizing the potential danger of crossing the line from friends to lovers, and trying to safeguard what’s real before it becomes too messy.”
The official music video for “Kill Switch,” directed by Anne-Sophie Bine, co-starred singer and actor Luke James.
