Pop-rap star Doja Cat and alt-R&B phenomenon SZA have teamed up for another collaboration, “Take Me Dancing.”

The slick groove, produced by Jack Antonoff, Gavin Bennett and Y2K, appears on Doja Cat’s fifth album, Vie, out today (Sept. 26) via Kemosabe Records/RCA Records.

On “Take Me Dancing,” Doja Cat and SZA sing of a romance that they can’t get enough of — inside and outside of the bedroom. “You’re so raw, boy, and you’re so romantic / When you f—k me right and then you take me dancing,” Doja sings in the chorus.

SZA appears in the second verse, singing, “I wanna ride it, we can go anywhere you want / All night, you know with me, you winning, boy.”

“Take Me Dancing” marks Doja and SZA’s third collaboration. They previously joined forces for their 2021 smash “Kiss Me More,” the lead single from Doja’s breakout album Planet Her, which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned them their first Grammy award (Best Pop Duo/Group Performance).

In 2023, SZA enlisted Doja for a remix of her smash hit “Kill Bill.”

Before releasing Vie, Doja Cat took to X (formerly Twitter) to express her love for SZA, the album’s sole featured artist. “Sza is the siren of this century and my favorite voice,” the “Say So” artist wrote in a post to her 5.7 million followers.

Vie was preceded by the lead single “Jealous Type,” which has already amassed over 54 million streams on Spotify.

Regarding her new album, Doja Cat notes, “The French word ‘Vie’ (translated in English: “life”) was a choice of wordplay by me starting with the simple fact that this is my 5th album. I wanted to stretch this from the roman numeral ‘five’ tattoo on my collarbone. Five in numerology represents curiosity, adventure, and change. I chose Vie as a nod to La Vie en Rose and tied it together with the theme of romance and throughout this project I give my interpretation on love, sex, romance, pain, and wonder within a relationship.”

She continues, “These songs can be pertained to the relationship with yourself or others. I feel strongly about the meaning of the word Vie because without life there is no love and without love there is no adventure. This is an adventurous album and with homages and nods to the 80’s, 70’s, and 90’s, I wanted to give my own personal modern twist.”

Vie is the follow-up to her 2023 album, Scarlet, which was reissued in 2024 with a deluxe edition titled Scarlet 2 CLAUDE.
