R&B veteran Anthony Hamilton has scored nearly a dozen new awards from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

His 2003 hit “Charlene,” from his platinum-selling album Coming From Where I’m From, is now certified 2x platinum, with over two million equivalent units sold in the U.S. It remains Hamilton’s best-selling single to date.

Meanwhile, the album’s title track and “I’m a Mess” have been crowned gold for selling over 500,000 equivalent units.

Further, “Can’t Let Go,” from his 2005 album Ain’t Nobody Worryin’, is now platinum. His other platinum certs include “Cool” featuring David Banner, “The Point of It All” and “Best of Me.”

The latter track appears on his 2011 LP, Back To Love, which has also been certified gold. Last but not least is “Woo,” the lead single from Back To Love, which is now gold.

RIAA President and Chief Operating Officer Michele Ballantyne and Chairman/CEO Mitch Glazier surprised Hamilton with a plaque celebrating his 14.5 million certified units in Washington, D.C., following Congressional Black Caucus Annual Legislative Conference festivities.

“To have my music recognized in this way is both humbling and deeply meaningful,” Hamilton shared in a statement. “These songs came from my life, my roots and my heart – and to know they’ve connected with so many people over the years is the greatest honor an artist could ask for. I’m grateful to the RIAA, to my fans who’ve been with me on this journey, and to everyone who continues to allow my music to be a part of their story.”

Ballantyne added, “Always finding ways to show and tell the world his perspective through song, written word or film, Anthony Hamilton has captivated an array of audiences. RIAA is thrilled to recognize just part of what that means – 14.5 million in sales/streams in the US! This represents the multiple Gold & Platinum singles, albums and collaborations your fans ‘can’t let go!’”

In other news, Hamilton and Fantasia are currently on a co-headlining tour that extends through spring 2026.
