Brent Faiyaz has finally released his highly awaited album, Icon, via ISO Supremacy/UnitedMasters.

Originally scheduled to release last fall, Icon arrives just in time for Valentine’s Day — and judging by the music, it totally makes sense.

With Icon, executive produced by Raphael Saadiq, Faiyaz shifts away from the “toxic R&B” he’s known for toward songs that lean into love’s merrier side.

In addition to Saadiq and Faiyaz, the album includes production by Chad Hugo, Benny Blanco, Dpat, Jordan Ware, Dilip and Tommy Richman, among others.

Icon was preceded by the lead single, “Have To,” which reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart — his second visit to the top.

As noted above, Icon was slated to drop in September 2025; however, Faiyaz canceled its release at the last minute. His reasoning was explained on behalf of his team in the intro of the “Have To” music video.

“Brent Faiyaz had ICON recorded and scheduled to release on September 19, 2025,” the message read. “The night before, Brent sent us a group text pulling the plug on the album,” the message read. “He also had another lead single and music video. He scrapped those too, then sent us this.”

Icon does not include the early singles “Peter Pan” and “Tony Soprano,” which dropped simultaneously on July 4th.

Icon is the follow-up to Faiyaz’s sophomore album, WASTELAND (2022), which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, with 88,000 units sold in the first week.
