Bruno Mars is officially back. The global superstar has released his fourth album, The Romantic, via Atlantic Records.
The nine-track set is preceded by the No. 1 hit “I Just Might,” which he co-produced with D’Mile. The two also co-produced the entire album together, which also includes additional songwriting by James Fauntleroy, Brody Brown and Philip Lawrence.
Among the album’s highlights is the Latin-flavored “Cha Cha Cha,” which includes a smooth interpolation of Juvenile and Soulja’s 2003 hit “Slow Motion.”
“Come on and cha-cha-cha with me / And I’ma cha-cha-cha with you tonight / Uh, I like it like that, she workin’ that back / I don’t know how to act, ooh-ooh-ooh,” Mars sings in the chorus.
Then there is the pleading ballad “Why You Wanna Fight?” where Mars seeks to right his wrongs with his partner. “Why you wanna fight with me, baby? / Wouldn’t you rather make love tonight?” he croons.

In early January, Mars confirmed his new album was complete. “My album is done,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter). A day after his announcement, he unveiled the album’s title, release date and cover art.
The Romantic is Mars’ first solo album since 2016’s 24K Magic, which spawned six Grammy wins, including for Album of the Year and Best R&B Album. The album featured the smash hit “That’s What I Like,” which won Song of the Year and Best R&B Song at the Grammys.
In 2021, Mars and Anderson .Paak — together known as Silk Sonic — released their hit album An Evening With Silk Sonic. The LP included the D’Mile and Mars-produced “Leave The Door Open,” which won four Grammys at the 64th ceremony, including for Record of the Year and Song of the Year.
On April 10, Mars will kick off The Romantic Tour, his first global stadium tour, in Las Vegas. He will play over 70 shows across North America, Europe and the U.K. through the fall. Anderson .Paak and DJ Pee .Wee will join him as a special guest, while Victoria Monét, Leon Thomas and RAYE support in select cities.
