Tank’s First Three Albums Now Available to Stream

It includes "Force of Nature," "One Man," and "Sex, Love & Pain."

It’s a great day for Tank fans. The R&B general’s first three previously released albums have been added to streaming services.

Released on March 20, 2001, Force of Nature, Tank’s debut album and first release on Blackground Records, spun off the cult classic “Maybe I Deserve” and “Slowly,” a moderate radio single. The LP entered the Billboard 200 at number seven and opened atop the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, scoring a gold plaque in May of the same year.

By the end of October 2002, Tank issued One Man, his sophomore album, which had the title track as the focus single. It peaked at No. 15 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart, while the album became a top 20 success on the Billboard 200.

He followed with Sex, Love & Pain, his return album that debuted at number one, thanks to the strength of its first single, “Please Don’t Go,” his first chart-topper on the Adult R&B side.

Tank’s first three albums were added to streaming services through Blackground Records 2.0’s partnership with EMPIRE. Like his catalog, in recent weeks, once-vaulted albums by Aaliyah, Timbaland & Magoo, and a few soundtracks (Romeo Must Die, Exit Wounds) were also made available on digital and streaming platforms.

In other related news, Tank has fans up in arms for his much-teased tenth studio album. He came out with the first single, “Can’t Let It Show,” which rose to the top of the R&B charts.

Tank appears on Rotimi’s debut album All or Nothing and spoke to Rated R&B about Aaliyah’s edgy, deep cut “I Can Be.”
