Shelley FKA DRAM has delivered just what the December doctor ordered on his snapping new holiday track, “Gifts.”
Composed by Slim Wav, the production evokes a familiar feeling of the festive time as Shelley sings against holiday aesthetics. He thoughtfully croons that having the around-the-clock company of his woman is like Christmas in his eyes.
“Baby your presence alone is my present so I’m here to stay / And every day’s a holiday / Ooh darling wherever, whenever you’re with me I celebrate,” he sings.
On Dec. 18, Shelley will perform “Gifts” and other music at his upcoming holiday show Big Baby’s Bakery Holiday Jam in his hometown of Norfolk, Virginia. Tickets are available now.
Shelley released his self-titled sophomore album in April 2021. The LP, his first since his rebrand from DRAM, featured the previously shared songs, “Cooking With Grease” and “Exposure.” He also had feature input from H.E.R., Summer Walker, Erykah Badu, and WATT.
