Candiace Taps Trina for New Kiss-Off Anthem ‘Insecure’

Candiace has given women everywhere a new anthem. The rising singer and Real Housewives of Potomac star has enlisted legendary rapper Trina for her new single “Insecure,” co-produced by duo Chris-n-Teeb and Donald Sales.

The spicy track contains some of the bluntest lyrics and heartfelt vocals as Candiace lets a fragile lover know it’s all him and not her, putting a damper on their relationship.

Trina checks her jealous man for his controlling antics, rapping, “Going through my phone that’s lame to me / How you do me wrong and blaming me? / Me and you in the spot was the place to be / Now you so insecure it’s a shame to see.”

“Insecure” is Candiace’s latest record from her forthcoming Deep Space (Deluxe) album. The expanded edition of her 2021 debut album is set to release Dec. 30.

Candiace’s original version of Deep Space featured the focus track “Drive Back” and a guest spot from the late Traci Braxton (“Stay With Me”).

Shifting back to “Insecure,” its accompanying video will be released in the coming weeks. TELFAR, a unisex line, styled Candiace and Trina for the single’s artwork and pending visual.

In addition to Trina, Candiace’s Deep Space (Deluxe) will feature appearances from Q. Parker and Isaac Carree, to name a few.

The former R&B vocalist appears on Candiace’s track “Benefits, Pt. II,” a sequel to a track lifted from Deep Space.

Now that she’s completed her first nationwide tour, Candiace is zeroed-in on television. On Dec. 1, she will star as Syleena Gibson, a trophy wife, in the new drama series Hush, on AllBlk.

Candiace announced her involvement in the film on June 2 via Instagram.

“My entire career I have watched so many great and talented artists and story tellers have their moment on this platform. And I have dreamt of one day having my own moment here. I simply cannot believe I am here. It’s a ‘mama I made it’ moment. It’s a fall to my knees and scream ‘THANK YOU GOD’ moment. It is surreal. I just….ahhh!!!! I am here. I’m here,” Candiace wrote.

Joyful Drake, Erica Mena, Caryn Ward Ross and TS Madison also star in Hush.
