To all of the Keri Hilson lovers and Keri Krew fans, the wait is almost over. Hilson’s awaited comeback is finally near as she hits the studio with Kanye West.
Previously, Hilson addressed her leave of absence from the music scene via Twitter but ensured that it was not for good. She opened up about some details entailing her absence and personal life, but kept us waiting to hear details on her music. Now there are talks about a new single and new album.
“We are pretty close to choosing the single,” Hilson reveals. “We are almost there. When it comes out, it’ll all come together. Everyone will understand [where] and what I’ve been doing.”
Hilson says that she is confident about the new upcoming single and really thinks her fans will be pleased with it as well. If there is question to whether her fans will embrace her after such a sudden leave of absence, Keri says, “I almost feel I didn’t take a break because they [fans] held me down.” When asked if she felt she needed to re-introduce herself to the world she simply responded, “The music is going to speak for itself.”
So far, it is known that Hilson is working with West and Timbaland on the new album. Hilson says she can’t say much of what she and West have been working on, but proclaims him as “a genius.” Although she and Timbaland, her executive producer, haven’t been working together as much lately, she assures that he is “very much a part of this project just as much as others.”
Hilson is set to release her single this year, but no exact date has been penned. “Even if we chose a single, anything can happen. I just want to make sure I give them my best. I don’t want to rush,” states Hilson passionately.
