Jeremih is venturing into the wine and spirits industry. The Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter has announced the launch of his new chardonnay brand, Birthday Sex, named after his 2009 debut single.
The Chicago, Illinois, native’s new venture is in partnership with LiveOne, a music, entertainment and technology platform based in Los Angeles, California.
Birthday Sex is among the new brands LiveOne is launching under its LiveOne Brands, its new division featuring celebrity-endorsed and branded products.
Jeremih and Napa Valley/Sonoma winemaker Russell Bevan worked closely together to develop Birthday Sex.
“Despite what a lot of people may think, I’ve always been a white wine kinda guy, shares Jeremih. “Seeing a lot of my friends launch their own liquor brands, I wanted to do something similar but in a more unique way. Wine, like music, is an art that connects people. My goal with this project was to bottle up the feeling of celebration and anticipation like in my song ‘Birthday Sex.'”
He continues, “Just as I make music that resonates with my audience, thanks to LiveOne and Russell Bevan, I now have the opportunity to share a different kind of experience through every bottle of Birthday Sex Wine.”

The brand’s official website describes the product as “a striking Chardonnay handpicked from premier vineyards and crafted with love and celebration in mind.”
It also states that every bottle of Birthday Sex has “a unique blend of vibrant fruit flavors and subtle oak nuances, designed to captivate your senses and make every moment feel like a celebration.”
Preorders are available now for Birthday Sex. Orders of six bottles or more will be signed by Jeremih.
The song “Birthday Sex” was released in March 2009 as the lead single from Jeremih’s self-titled debut album. The Mick Schultz-produced track peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 in June and was certified platinum by the RIAA in December after selling over one million copies.
In 2020, “Birthday Sex” was upped to 4x multi-platinum for achieving four million equivalent sales units. At the time of publication, it has more than 391 million streams on Spotify.
Jeremih will be performing “Birthday Sex” and other songs from his catalog on 50 Cent’s Final Lap Tour. The world tour launches Friday, July 21, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He will also use the opportunity to introduce his new beverage at select shows on tour.
Earlier this week, on Jeremih’s birthday (July 17), he released a new song titled “Room” featuring Adekunle Gold and 2 Chainz. It’s Jeremih’s first song release of the year and follows his 2022 single “Changes.”
