Truth Hurts, the R&B singer most known for her 2002 single “Addictive,” has returned with her new song “RnB Love.”

On the self-penned song, produced by Chaz Mason, Truth Hurts remains optimistic about finding love again after heartbreak.

“I’ve been through it all but I refuse to get used to it / I’ve had enough of all that funny shhh / And I deserve so much better / And I know now more than ever before / That after all the pain / There’s clarity to gain,” she sings in the first verse.

Speaking on the inspiration behind her new song, Truth Hurts says, “‘RnB Love’ is a feel-good joint I wrote to express my deep desire to get myself and the world back to what truly matters through the original meaning of Musick (Muse the Sick) — the way it was back in the day when you would hear a song that was so beautifully written lyrically and melodically, it would literally change your whole perspective, mood, and feeling about life and love depending on what the vibe of the song was.”

She continues,” I remember RnB that made me wanna be in love and made me want to be loved so penning this joint is my effort to get us back to love in the midst of so much pain, hate, and turmoil.”

“RnB Love” is the follow-up to Truth Hurts’ 2022 song “Cheated.” It will appear on her upcoming project, #revelations, which she describes as a “grown woman’s musical diary.”

As noted above, Truth Hurts entered the scene in 2002 with “Addictive” featuring Rakim. The DJ Quik-produced track was written by Static Major (Aaliyah, Ginuwine, Pretty Ricky). It peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 2 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart.

“Addictive” was the lead single from Truth Hurts’ debut album, Truthfully Speaking, released on Dr. Dre‘s Aftermath Records. It opened at No. 5 on the Billboard 200.

In 2004, Truth Hurts returned with her sophomore album, Ready Now, on Raphael Saadiq’s Pookie Entertainment.
