Genre-bending newcomer Paradise has released his new single “Highway” via mega, Usher and L.A.’s label, in partnership with gamma.
The sun-kissed production, which blends an airy guitar with driving drum kicks, evokes the bliss of a summer road trip. Lyrically, the pop radio-friendly bop is steeped in longing for passion.
“Highway / Get me to her lovin’ ’cause it’s all I want / I’m on my way / Heaven might be closer, might be closer than I ever thought,” Paradise sings on the breezy tune.
“Highway” was produced by John Ryan (Sabrina Carpenter, John Legend, Teddy Swims) and AMMO (Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Jessie J), who co-wrote it with Alexander Izquierdo.
“Highway” is the follow-up to Paradise’s debut single, “Foggin’ Up The Windows.” The steamy track was released Feb. 7, followed by his feature on his labelmate JayDon’s debut single, “Lullaby,” a week later on Feb. 14.
Paradise, born Addison Reid, performed “Foggin’ Up The Windows” for the first time on Tank and J. Valentine‘s The R&B Money Podcast. He also performed “Lullaby” with JayDon on the episode featuring his father and music mogul, L.A. Reid.
Circling back to “Highway” and “Foggin’ Up The Windows,” both tracks will appear on Paradise’s debut EP, I Couldn’t Explain It Even If I Tried, coming later this year.
