Chikoruss wants to take a platonic relationship to the next level in his new song “Bestfriend,” out via 300 Entertainment.
On the track, the Montreal native gets some liquid courage to confess his feelings to a close friend. “Girl can you tell me how to love you better / This liquor care is making me tell you to chill / Drink half of the liquor, you got me pouring out my heart when I’m with ya,” he sings.
Speaking on “Bestfriend,” Chikoruss shares, “While making this song, I was thinking about what I would say to a female best friend who I liked more than a friend. So, this became an ode to me pouring out my feelings while I’m drunk or letting the liquor talk.”
He adds, “Fun fact, I was at home watching Love Don’t Cost A Thing when I came up with the idea for the hook, so while recording this in the studio, I put myself into the role of a movie character or actor to try and drive the narrative home.”
“Bestfriend” follows a slew of 2024 singles, including “No Makeup,” “No Silent Night,” “On You,” “RaRa,” “All On Me,” “USC” and “In 2 Deep.”
