Rated R&B has the exclusive first look at Lifetime’s movie trailer for Fame: A Temptations Story, starring Keri Hilson and Keshia Chanté.

According to the original movie’s synopsis, “To the outside world, the Jordan sisters, Cherish (Keri Hilson) and Roxy (Keshia Chanté) are the hottest singing duo on the charts… but behind closed doors, sibling rivalry runs deep. After returning to their hotel one night, the sisters’ penthouse is the target of a frightening jewel heist.”

It continues, “Investigators believe the robbery was an inside job and rumors spread that Roxy secretly planned and staged the crime. Will the sisters put aside their lust for the spotlight … or will they let their temptation for fame tear them apart for good?”

Fame: A Temptations Story premieres Saturday, April 26, at 8 p.m. ET on Lifetime. The film also stars Romeo Miller, Ecstasia Sanders, Nathan Witte, Veronica Long, Reese Alexander and Sophie Carriere.

Fame is part of the network’s new Temptations movie franchise, which kicks off with Desire, starring Tasha Smith and Adrian Holmes, on April 19 at 8 p.m. ET.

In a recent interview with Rated R&B, Hilson shared how she connected with her character, Cherish: “I have never played an artist like a musician, but obviously, I connect with her there. However, we are pretty different. She’s a lot more pretentious. Her intentions are also very different. She’s married, and I’m definitely not. So we have that different approach there. But she was still likable… I still liked her playing her. I liked her as a celebrity. She does have a heart when it comes to things. She’s a go-getter, and that’s really where we connect.”

Hilson added, “It’s like we have different motivations behind going after what we want, but we would never, she (Cherish) nor Keri would be successful if we didn’t have that trait of laser focusing in on what it is we need to accomplish in this life, what it is that is driving us, and what our dreams are and the things that we want. We are the same there.”

Before Fame premieres, Hilson will release the first installment of her long-awaited third album, We Need To Talk, on April 18. It will include the previously shared track “Bae” and will feature an appearance from Method Man.

Fame is executive produced by DNA Media Group for Lifetime. Derrick Williams, Adriane Hopper Williams, Ngozi Paul and Breanne Laplante are executive producers. Robert Adetuyi directed Fame, while Andrea Shawcross, Annmarie Morais and Jane Espenson wrote the script.
