Q Marsden, mononymously known as Q, has returned with a new mixtape, 10 Songs, via Boy Meets Euphoria/Columbia Records.
The eclectic 10-track project features a compilation of tracks Q dropped via YouTube and SoundCloud this year, such as “Be With Ya” and “Pretty Woman,” plus three new songs.
He shared on Instagram: “I was just dropping songs on youtube and I really wasn’t planning to drop anything serious yet but honestly why not, these songs are pretty good haha. thank you for pushing it to the real world. there are also 3 extra songs :).”
Among the new tracks is the soul-stirring ballad “Be Brave.” He sings over a warm piano, “Be who you are, girl, you’re a star / But remember, feelings don’t feel good / When. you get deep down in somber nights / These new ways just feel ungrateful / I’m so grateful.”
“Be Brave” is accompanied by a monochromatic visualizer that sees Q riding on the back of a vehicle on a vacant road surrounded by trees.
All the tracks on 10 Songs were written and produced by Q. The mixtape is his first project release since dropping his three-track EP, Hello, Everyday Changes, in November 2023.
Before that, in May of the same year, Q released his debut album, Soul, PRESENT, in 2023. The album included the singles “Today” and “Stereo Driver,” plus the Baby Rose-assisted “Understand.”
In 2021, Q released The Shave Experiment (Director’s Cut), an extended version of his 2020 EP, The Shave Experiment.
