Mariah Carey’s ‘Type Dangerous’ Enters Top 10 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay Chart

It's the Ultimate Icon's 16th top 10 hit on this chart.

Mariah Carey‘s “Type Dangerous” is now a top 10 hit on Billboard‘s Adult R&B Airplay chart.

The hip-hop soul-infused banger rises from No. 12 to No. 7 on the chart, led by Kevin Ross‘ “Love in the Middle” for a second week. It tallies Carey’s 16th top 10 entry on the Adult R&B Airplay list. 

Carey’s previous visit to the top 10 was with her 2021 collaboration with Jam & Lewis, “Somewhat Loved (There You Go Breakin’ My Heart),” which peaked at No. 9.

Here’s a breakdown of Mariah Carey’s top 10 hits on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart:

“Type Dangerous,” co-written and produced by Anderson .Paak, was released June 6 via MARIAH/gamma.

The song, which samples Eric B. & Rakim’s “Eric B. Is President,” debuts at No. 15 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart.

Elsewhere on Billboard, “Type Dangerous” started at No. 1 on the R&B Digital Song Sales and R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales charts, No. 4 on Digital Song Sales, and No. 7 on Hot R&B Songs.

On July 11, the Ultimate Icon released a Type Dangerous – The Remixes, a four-track EP consisting of two hip-hop-flavored versions — “The Remix of the Gods” featuring Busta Rhymes, Redman, and Method Man, and “The Sean Don Remix” with Big Sean — along with a DJ Snake remix and a Brazilian funk version featuring Luisa Sonza.
