Ella Mai is an unapologetic lover girl. Her new song “100,” which dropped Wednesday (Jan. 14), brims with the kind of devotion that only shows up when you’re deep in it.
On the Mustard and Keanu Beats production, Mai assures her boo that their relationship is a partnership, and she is willing and able to give whatever it takes to keep it solid.
“Love ain’t never 50 50 / It’s whatever I got in me,” sings Mai, before doing a little more math: “20 for my 80 / Ain’t no maybe / We’ll make it to 100 / If I got 40 for your 60 / You’ll stick with me.”
“100” arrives with a casino-themed video directed by Yussef Haridy and Logan Fields. The video follows Mai and her romantic interest as they engage in a slick game of Blackjack, with Mustard as the dealer.
“100” is the third offering from Mai’s third album, Do You Still Love Me? which drops Feb. 6 via 10 Summers/Interscope Records. The anticipated album will also include “Tell Her” and “Little Things.”
The latter heartfelt track originally appeared on Mai’s 3 EP, which she dropped as a surprise on her 30th birthday (Nov. 3, 2024). “Little Things” reached No. 1 on Billboard’s R&B Digital Song Sales, earning Mai her third chart-topper.
Do You Still Love Me? is described as “a new chapter rooted in growth, grace, and emotional clarity. It will follow 2022’s Heart On My Sleeve, which included songs like “Leave You Alone” and “DMFU” and featured Lucky Daye, Roddy Ricch and Latto.
In a recent interview on Capital XTRA Breakfast with Robert Bruce and Shayna Marie, Mai explained that becoming a mother gave her creative clarity while making her new album. “When I first started recording the album, I was pregnant, and then when I was finishing that album, I was postpartum. So, I think that my point of view, just as a woman and in life, and just my perspective completely changed,” Mai said. “I think I’ve never been more sure of what I want to say and what I want to sound like.”
