Destin Conrad continues to expand his reach beyond R&B. The rising Grammy-nominated star is back with “Nothing Is Real,” featuring multi-instrumentalist Terrace Martin. It’s the first taste from wHIMSY (Deluxe), an expanded version of his experimental jazz album.
On “Nothing Is Real,” the warm instrumentation offers Conrad comfort as he comes to terms with the cold reality of a partner who proved to be a mirage.
Though disappointment lingers in his vocals, a sense of equanimity is also present. “I thought you were special, but like you, there’s plenty more,” he croons, refusing to let the situation send him into a spiral.
“Nothing Is Real” was produced by Louie Lastic, Ryan James Carr, Austin Brown, Dan Forte and Mack Keane.

Conrad’s upcoming wHIMSY (Deluxe) does not have a release date yet, but it is said to be “coming soon.” Speaking of dates, the Florida native is heading on a limited-run tour this spring.
He will play in jazz clubs across the East Coast, beginning March 17 at the iconic Blues Alley in Washington, D.C. He will make stops in Baltimore, Philadelphia, Boston and New York, before concluding March 27 at the Masonic Lodge in Los Angeles.
Before heading on his wHIMSY Tour, Conrad will attend the 2026 Grammys, where his debut album, Love On Digital, is nominated for Best Progressive R&B Album.
wHIMSY was released in August 2025, four months after the arrival of Love On Digital. The former features collaborations with Martin, James Fauntleroy, Keyon Harrold, Ambré, Vanisha Gould and more.
“wHIMSY is an off the cuff, free idea, that is my passion project,” explained Conrad. “This is something I’ve always wanted to do—from my years in the Jazz Choir during high school to now, having the opportunity to release this project and reinventing what Jazz means to me now.”
