After dropping his LK99: The Prelude EP last summer, Leven Kali is back with “Breathe!”
The self-produced track is a funked-out floor-filler that toggles between motivational pep talk and sensual groove. “Ooh, I know you miss me / Feel it all through the rhythm / Oh yeah, you’re doing good / Just breathe,” he sings.
Speaking on “Breathe!” Kali exclusively tells Rated R&B, “The record is a reminder to breathe. I’ve been learning how to do it, it’s great, highly recommend.”

“Breathe!” paves the way for Kali’s forthcoming album, LK99, set to arrive this spring via Def Jam. It will mark his first full-length project since 2020’s HIGHTIDE. As indicated above, Kali’s LK99: The Prelude features six stellar tracks, including “Sleepwalking,” “Are U Still” and the must-hear “Blackrock.”
Though it’s been six years since Kali’s last album, the Grammy-nominated artist has kept himself quite busy. In addition to his 2022 EP Let It Rain, Kali wrote and produced for Beyoncé‘s Renaissance (“Virgo’s Groove,” “Alien Superstar”) and Cowboy Carter (“Bodyguard”), as well as for Coco Jones (“AEOMG”), Destin Conrad (“Luv N Devotion”) and Fana Hues (“Paper Tigers”), among others.
