Love has Dave Hollister on lock in his new single “Voodoo Magic,” out via Death Row Records/gamma.
Produced by Snoop Dogg and Soopafly, “Voodoo Magic” captures love’s powerful magnetic pull and how it sometimes keeps us coming back even when we want to break away. He sings: “Every time I wanna leave, your love pulls me back in / Is it voodoo or magic? / Girl what is this? / Got me under your spell / I can’t fight it.”
Speaking on his latest track, Hollister exclusively tells Rated R&B, “When Snoop Dogg called me and said he wanted to work on some songs, of course, I said yes without hesitation. When we cooked up ‘Voodoo Magic,’ I said, so this is what Death Row Records is doing in the R&B space! At that moment, it became clear to me that I was in the right place!”

“Voodoo Magic” is Hollister’s second single of the year, following “Thought You Knew,” which dropped in April. The latter song, also produced by Snoop Dogg and Soopafly, marked his first solo offering since his 2016 album, The MANuscript.
In 2021, he joined forces with Donell Jones, appearing on his “Karma (Remix)” alongside Carl Thomas, RL and Jacquees. The same year, he formed the R&B supergroup The Chi with fellow Chicago natives Jones and Thomas.
