Want to listen to Ledisi’s new album “The Truth” before it hits stores next week? We got you. The soulful singer has teamed up with The New York Times and its “Press Play” series to allow fans to stream the album a week before its release.
“The Truth,” composed of ten tracks, features her latest single “I Blame You” and a few more uptempo songs compared to her previous albums.
“This album was just amazing to make,” Ledisi said in an interview. “I enjoyed the songwriters and producers I worked with, and I’m just so vibrant and confident right now. I’m happy as hell, but I’m still growing and evolving. Making “The Truth” was like journaling, because anything I had to say went into the songs, so it was like singing out my journal. I’d been holding so much inside, but I didn’t realize it until it was time to work on the songs.”
Ledisi will kick off her “The Truth Tour” with Robert Glasper on April 16 in Jacksonville, FL.
