John Legend has seen a significant shift in his career after the success of his single “All of Me,” which stands at No. 1 for a second week on the Hot 100 chart.
Now with all eyes on him, the passionate artist switches gears and promotes “You & I (Nobody in the World),” the new single off his “Love in the Future” album.
He utilizes his performance from last month’s Citi ThankYou concert in Los Angeles to build more awareness for the heartwarming track. Before taking the crowd by storm with the Malay produced song, Legend shared that his wife was his muse for the new single. “Sometimes you have to let your loved one know that they’re special,” he told the audience. “When I wrote this song I was thinking about when Chrissy and I go on date night, and sometimes there is all this pressure to look so good, everybody is going to see you, but this song is just letting her know that even before all the make-up and all those fancy clothes she’s already perfect in my eyes.”
Legend’s album “Love in the Future” stands at No. 2 on the Billboard R&B Albums chart this week. The single “You & I (Nobody in the World)” rests at No. 21 on the Billboard Adult R&B Songs chart in its second week.
