Ever since news broke that Robin Thicke and his wife Paula Patton separated, the music superstar made “winning back my true love” an assignment that he wanted to complete. He even titled his new album after his wife.
With the project available in stores and online, Thicke took his quest to win Paula back to “Good Morning America” on Wednesday morning. Before performing the album’s lead single “Get Her Back,” the “Lost Without U” artist explains why he chose to pen a collection of apologetic songs to his estranged wife and why he hopes she appreciates it. “We were childhood sweethearts,” he says. “She’s the best person I have ever met. The least I could do would be to devote an album to her.”
While he wants to get his point across to Paula with sad songs like “Get Her Back,” he still wants her to listen to the project and have feeling of “hope and positivity” with tracks like “Forever Love.”
