Over the years, K. Michelle has been vocal about how much she admires Mary J. Blige.
During an interview earlier this week with Power 105.1‘s The Breakfast Club, she spotted the R&B veteran through a window.
“Oh, God, is that Mary J. Blige?” K. Michelle asked in the middle of the interview. “I’ve never met her and I absolutely adore her.” After the interview, the Rebellious Soul singer had the chance to meet Blige face to face.
“Hi, Mary,” said a nervous K. Michelle. “I’m really nervous. I’m K. Michelle and I really love you. I don’t want to cry. I really, really, really love you. I thank you for making me want to be a singer. I thank you for everything. You’re absolutely amazing. I just wanted to say thank you.”
“You’re welcome baby,” Blige responded humbly. “You have an amazing voice.”
K. Michelle couldn’t help but to continue to express her love to Blige. “I hope to one day have half the career that you have,” she said. “You have touched so many people and to stand here with you today, that is unreal, and I just want to say thank you, and I’ma keep stalking you.”
