Following the release of his new single “Pretty Is,” Lyfe Jennings reveals some details about his forthcoming album. Titled Tree of Lyfe, the LP is scheduled to arrive this summer via RAL/Sony Music Entertainment.
Jennings, who produced the majority of the album at his home studio, says Tree of Lyfe is one of his most personal projects to date.
“Everybody feels like they have to reinvent themselves,” Jennings says about his musical mindset. “I don’t think you can reinvent the truth. It is what it is. I’m not focused on reinvention. I want to go deeper. This album reaffirms the reasons why people started loving this music in the first place.”
Jennings’ previous album, Lucid, was released in fall 2013. It debuted at No. 4 on Billboard’s R&B Albums chart No. 32 on the Billboard 200.
