American Idol season 15 runner-up La’Porsha Renae has released her debut single titled “Good Woman.” Produced by Harmony Samuels and Edgar “JV” Etienne, the soulful tune is Renae’s personal definition of what it means to be a good woman.
“A lot of fans have been requesting that in-your-face song, a sense of feeling empowered,” Renae told Billboard. “And ‘Good Woman’ is that: a relatable song celebrating the good woman. I’m also really proud of the third verse, which I wrote.”
“Good Woman” will impact urban adult contemporary radio on October 17. The song will appear on her forthcoming debut album, which is set to release in early 2017 via 19 Recordings /Motown Records.
Since American Idol, Renae has been recording her debut album, while her Idol finale original track “Battles” was the soundtrack for the U.S. Women’s Olympic Gymnastics team during the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.
