Jhene Aiko would rather go naked than wear animal fur. The singer-songwriter is the latest public figure to join PETA’s anti-fur campaign, which raises awareness about how animals are killed for their fur.
The campaign features Aiko naked on a bed with just a sheet covering some of her assets. The words “drop the fur” rest beside her in big bold letters.
“As human beings, we have the power to speak up for animals,” Aiko said in her behind-the-scenes interview with PETA. “They don’t speak our language, so I feel like it’s up to us to help them and give them a voice. Animals have feelings, they have souls, they have emotions and the way that they are killed for fur is very inhumane.”
This isn’t the first time Aiko teamed with PETA. In 2014, she worked with peta2 to raise awareness about homeless animals.
