Epic Records recording artist and songwriter Candice Boyd caps this week with her brand new single “Make Me Over.” On the raw and honest ballad, Boyd sings about becoming self-conscious about her physical appearance while in a relationship. She realizes that she only was hurting herself just to please her so-called lover.
“I started wearing more makeup / Trying to look like someone else / Trying to make you happy when making you happy is making me hate myself / I just want to be beautiful / Like when our love was all we knew / God make me over / Good enough for you,” Boyd passionately sings on the piano-driven song.
“Make Me Over” is a reminder that beauty is not in the face; it’s a light in the heart.
