Tank can do no wrong on urban adult contemporary radio. The R&B vet has earned another number one single on urban AC radio with “When We” from his latest album, Savage.
With 1,997 radio spins, Tank’s romantic cut has dethroned newcomer Khalid’s hit “Location” from the top slot. Back on June 29, “When We” debuted at No. 47 with 70 radio spins.
The Sex Music maker touched on the early success of “When We” with Rated R&B in September.
“I’m the number one streaming artist on the urban AC format and we know that older people don’t stream,” said Tank. “Streaming is a young format. I’m over a million streams a week. Listen, I don’t let people dictate that for me. I don’t let radio dictate that for me, although they’ve given me a lot of love and support on the urban AC side.”
