UK singer Ella Mai is living the good life right now. With her single “Boo’d Up” steadily rising on the charts, she drops the official video.
Directed by Nick Walker, Mai and her date take a Lyft to Golf N Stuff in Norwalk, Calif. where they delight in go-karting, miniature golf and Skee-Ball. Her friends Khalid and Kamaiyah tag along for the merrymaking.
Right now, “Boo’d Up” is at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot R&B Songs chart. As she rides the wave of the single and her newfound success, she is hard at work on her debut album, which is being executive produced by DJ Mustard.
“We’re pretty close to finishing,” said Mai to Billboard. “You can hear the growth from my EP’s into this project. Content-wise, it’s a bit more mature. It’s still me and, like the EP’s, still about love and relationships. There are definitely some collaborations but I can’t share those just yet.”
This summer, Mai will take the stage at Essence Festival and BET Experience.
