Raphael Saadiq is taking his soulful sound on the road this summer for a headlining tour.
Titled Ray Ray vs. Charlie Ray, the versatile musician will kick off his series of shows on July 20 in Minneapolis, MN. The following day, he will take the stage at the Pitchfork Music Festival before cruising through cities such as Detroit and New York. He will conclude the seven-date tour in Washington, D.C. on July 27.
Saadiq is reportedly “set to finish work” on his follow-up to 2011’s Stone Rollin’. The album cut “Good Man” received a Grammy nomination for Best Traditional Performance.
Earlier this year, Saadiq enjoyed Best Original Song nominations from the Oscars and Golden Globes for his contribution on Mary J. Blige’s “Mighty River” from the Mudbound original soundtrack.
