After nailing her performance as Mimi Marquez in Fox’s live musical Rent on Sunday, Tinashe’s studio performance of “Out Tonight” surfaces online.
Backed by a pop-rock instrumental, the entertainer delivers a rousing performance that her predecessors Daphne Rubin-Vega and Rosario Dawson, who portrayed Mimi in the Broadway production and the 2005 film version, would praise.
The Rent – Original Soundtrack of the Fox Live Television Event will be available on Friday, February 1. According to Billboard, the album will include recordings from the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Rent as performed by the cast members within a live orchestra onstage from the Fox live adaptation of the Jonathan Larson rock opera.
