Sometimes excuses are necessary. Model/singer Cassie is coming forward with “Excuses” on her new track via her independent label Ventura Music.
Produced by Chris N Teeb (Ciara, Tiffany Evans, Danity Kane), the transparent track sees Cassie making herself a priority after feeling depleted in a relationship.
“I gotta care about myself more than I have been / Because I just can’t go on being your air / If I can’t breathe / I can’t be your strength / If I don’t take care of me / This is an excuse that is needed,” Cassie sings on tune, which she co-wrote with Sickpen.
Known for her soft and airy vocals, Cassie experiments with her lower register on “Excuses” – and she sounds pleasant.
“Excuses” comes just one week after Cassie released her version of The Code’s “Moments_Meandyou” from their Mercury EP.
It’s unclear if “Excuses” and “Moments” will appear on a future project.
