The-Dream knows how to create the ultimate vibe. The singer/songwriter/producer visited NPR to perform a short, yet satisfying set for its Tiny Desk concert series.
Draped in a silky black and golf button-up shirt, The-Dream kicks off his three-song set with “Bedroom,” off of his recent album Ménage à Trois: Sextape Vol. 1, 2, 3. “It’s kinda hard to sing like that with the daylight out,” The-Dream he shares after delivering a soulful rendition to the rhythmic slow jam.
He stays on track with as he goes into “Back In Love,” another pick from Ménage à Trois. Diverging to a softer side, we get to hear The-Dream sing delicately about a reunited love.
The set closes perfectly with a pleasantly censored version of “I Luv Your Girl,” chosen from his debut album Lovehate. Originally full-bodied and in-depth, the smooth and jazzier version should convince The-Dream to do an unplugged album with some of his hits and deep cuts.
