Two years after releasing her Grammy-nominated album Let Love Rule, Ledisi has returned to the studio for a legendary follow-up.
For her next album, Ledisi tapped iconic songwriter/producer Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds to join her recording session. She revealed the awe moment on her Instagram on Tuesday (Sept. 3), declaring that, “God is blowing my mind.”
While the two have toured together in the past, they have yet to collaborate on a record. Judging by the comments under her Instagram post, her fans are eager to hear the magic they are creating.
In addition to working with Babyface, Ledisi is back in the lab with Robert Glasper and frequent collaborator Rex Rideout. The latter producer has been part of her all five major-label albums, including The Truth and Turn Me Loose.
As Ledisi starts busy work on her untitled ninth album, she has lent her voice to Miles Davis’ 1986 lost album Rubberband. The shelved project, which also includes Lalah Hathaway, is out this Friday (Sept. 6).
