The dynamic duo known as Louis York (Claude Kelly and Chuck Harmony) has released a video for their new song, “You Gotta Be (Reimagined).”
Not necessarily a remix, they took the original song by Des’ree and flipped it their unique way. The pair kept the original melody and added an ethereal and soothing production to support the vocals.
Shot in black and white, the Esé Morrison and Will Robbins directed visual takes viewers into Louis York’s studio for a glimpse of how they created the reimagined song.
With the studio walls adorned with plaques from Ne-Yo to Whitney Houston, the creative energy was certainly flowing all throughout the visual.
Claude Kelly and Chuck Harmony may have written and produced songs together for the likes of Chrisette Michele, K. Michelle and Fantasia, but as artists, they have their own story to tell as Louis York.
The talented pair are releasing their debut album American Griot on October 18. In Louis York’s interview with Rated R&B, they shared they hope “when people hear it, they’ll be inspired to go a little harder.”
