Janelle Monáe’s Song ‘Make Me Feel’ Goes Gold

The first track off 'Dirty Computer' to achieve this feat

Does Janelle Monáe still have a Dirty Computer?

We hope not because she might miss the headlines about the quirky funk “Make Me Feel” and its recent gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

The Mattman & Robin-helmed track is the first from the eccentric superstar’s Dirty Computer catalog to achieve gold status so far.

The last time Monáe feted over a solo certified gold single was last year for 2010’s “Tightrope.”

Since its coming out party in 2018, “Make Me Feel” has accrued more than 79.1 million streams on Spotify.

Meanwhile, the Alan Ferguson-directed video has garnered over 26 million views on YouTube.

If Monáe’s certification news has you excited, you’ll be over the moon when she hits the silver screen in Lionsgate’s Antebellum later this year.

Originally set to premiere on April 24 in theaters, the Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz-directed horror has been postponed amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. A new release date has not yet been announced.

In the meantime, let’s all congratulate Monáe on her golden news.
