Leah Jenea has jumped in the quarantine release pool and dropped a new song titled “Good Girl.”
This guitar-laced track gives off instant ‘00s R&B nostalgia. Here, The Four alum is trying not to sweat her man too hard about his whereabouts.
Jenea simply wants him to know that she’s going to be his ride or die as long as he keeps it 100 at all times.
“Good Girl” is Jenea’s first release of 2020. It is also her first track since last year’s “Balance,” which includes nuances of her latest effort.
Back in 2018, Jenea tributed legacy artist Nina Simone on her six-track project Leah Meets Nina.
“Every record on the EP embodies strength and realism,” Jenea told Rated R&B. “Nina Simone definitely went through hardships to become who she is and songs like ‘Doin Dishes’ that speak about the struggle of trying to succeed and being pushed back by troubles at the same time. I fought to keep her story alive, while also keeping the new age sound and feel.”
