Riding high on the acclaim of his latest LP, R&B phenomenon August Alsina is making “Rounds” in the project’s latest video.
The striking visual sees Alsina sporting a tricked-out Mercedes Benz, dripping red and gold silk suits, and repping his hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana, as well as Houston, Texas.
“Throw that NO up / H-Town down (hol’ up) / This for the homies (hol’ up) / This for my rounds (hol’, hol’ up),” the singer-songwriter sings as the track opens.
“Rounds” is lifted from Alsina’s third album, The Product III: stateofEMERGEncy, which dropped last month via Shake the World / EMPIRE.
Alsina recently opened up about his mental health issues and overcoming them on Instagram: “I’ve tasted and toyed w/ death, therefore I want to live a life purposeful, w/ intention, & no regret.”
He continues, “One thing that’s certain is we are all living to die. Death, we should fear not! Fear being alive, while dying & being dead inside; so create the life you see fit for yourself.”
