Stephen Bruner better known as Thundercat is bringing his ferocious-fan roar to the Cartoon Network revival of the classic ‘80s cartoon, Thundercats.
The multi-instrumentalist has written an original song for the new reboot Thundercats Roar. It is called “Grune’s Tune” and it is context is about Grune the Destroyer, a super villain who was once an evil Thundercat. His ghost has returned and crafted the ultimate revenge plan against the league of cat warriors.
Joining a panel discussion with the show’s voice actors, Thundercat dived deep about being a super fan of the franchise and how he felt honored to be involved in the creation of Grune with its animator.
He also shared how the character’s creator gave him voice over tips while recording “Grune’s Tune.” Watch the full panel interview here.
Back in April, Thundercat released his latest album It Is What It Is. It featured guest spots from Childish Gambino, Ty Dolla $ign, Steve Lacy and Steve Arrington of the funk group Slave.
