Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men has released a visual for his current solo single “All I Do.”
The video is an ode to Black women in Stockman’s life, as well as those who have inspired him such as Maya Angelou, Michelle Obama, Kamala Harris, Ava Duvernay, Rapsody and more.
“If this year has shown us anything, it’s what and whom we should be grateful for,” Stockman said in a statement. “This is my way of paying homage to the ‘riders.’ The ones who build and do not destroy. The ones who nurture and care for, with such grace and a flyness that the rest of the world looks on in amazement!”
“All I Do” appears on Stockman’s solo debut album, Foreword, which dropped earlier this year. “This is my intro to the world as the person you know as one of the guys from another group venturing out on another journey; that’s why I called it Foreword,” Stockman explained to Rated R&B in an interview.
“It’s my courting stage to the public, letting people know who I am. This is how I view things. This is how I view life. This is how I write. It’s also a double entendre of moving forward and progressively in life and in music,” he added.
