Ty Dolla $ign has more than enough money to spend on his new single “Expensive” featuring Nicki Minaj. He reunites with the New York rapper to sing about providing his girl with the lavish life at his expense.
“She so expensive, okay / Beamers or the Benz’s, okay / Diamond tennis necklace, okay / Lambo or the double R truck,” he sings on the chorus.
Minaj comes in on the second verse with her list of requirements for a man who is interested in her. “I got a shopping problem, got expensive taste / Bustdown Patek with the expensive face / Gotta get me ice if he tryna skate / Gotta swipe the Amex if we go on a date,” she raps.
Ty also released an accompanying music video, which was directed by Romain Laurent. The opulent visual incorporates some fun animation to offset the extravagant lifestyle. In the opening shot, Ty Dolla $ign is bombarded and buried in hundreds of shopping boxes in a comedic cartoon fashion.
He unleashed his first single, the star-studded “Ego Death” last month. His forthcoming album Dream House is slated to be released this year.
