If anyone has an early Christmas itch, Atlantic Records’ roster of R&B artists has a cure. Still Home for the Holidays, released in time for the approaching season of joy and lightheartedness, is a 13-track compilation that features a generous helping of festive originals.
Atlantic Records fixture and R&B veteran Trey Songz melts the snow with his warm signature tone on “Christmas Morning,” which features production by his longtime collaborator Troy Taylor.
Sebastian Mikael and his retro-soul shimmies down the “Chimney,” while Ayanis sneaks a kiss under the mistletoe with Old St. Nick on “Santa Baby.”
Not everything is an original. Pink Sweat$ modernizes Donny Hathaway’s holiday staple “This Christmas” with his dreamy R&B flair. It also contains the untouched vocals from the legendary late performer himself.
Still Home for the Holidays also features contributions from Ty Dolla $ign, Shelley (formerly DRAM), Raiche, PJ, Tayla Parx, IV JAY, Jeven Reliford and many more.
