Nearly three years after releasing his Complications EP, Dr Maleek returns with the second installment.
“The inspiration behind the project is being in a relationship with someone that feels right but a lot of the fundamentals of the relationships aren’t adding up,” Dr Maleek told Rated R&B via email. “It’s the complications of a relationship one that I experienced — the ups and downs, etc.”
He also shared that his favorite song on Complications II is the closing track, “Proud of U.”
“It’s just a feel-good record that can spark a cure and positivity with everything going on in the world thus far,” he said.
