Underrated R&B veteran Syleena Johnson readies her new album “Chapter 6: Couples Therapy” with the premiere of her “Perfectly Worthless” music video.
Directed by Tangie Black Moore, the passionate artist steps into the drivers seat of her old school car and heads over ex-lover’s residence. A gun is visible inside her vehicle. While she sings the blues about being mistreated by her former man, she drinks and smokes a cigarette to comfort herself. As the five-minute clip continues, it flashes through scenes of the once matched-made in heaven in several counseling sessions. It also features her old fling booed up with another woman and spending time with a young child.
Shortly after Johnson gets the last puff of her fourth cigarette, she witnesses her ex, his new girlfriend and the child buckling up in the car for a night out. She instantly clocks her gun and exits her car while he closes the door behind his new love as she settles in the passenger seat. Once noticed by couple, Johnson starts pointing the gun to her one-time boyfriend. As Johnson gets out the car to protect her man, his girlfriend tries to distract her but has the gun waved between the both of them.
At the beginning of the clip, fans hear a short preview of Syleena’s forthcoming single “My Love,” which is set to hit airwaves in two weeks. Her album “Chapter 6: Couples Therapy” is slated to arrive in stores and on digital retailers on October 7.
