Two-time Grammy award-winner Timothy Bloom combines smooth R&B singing with rock in his latest single “Work It Out.”
As the first single of a three-part set of EP’s, The Life Trilogy, “Work It Out” is a driving ballad with soulful instrumentation to give it that vintage R&B and rock vibe. The track, written and produced by Bloom himself, is about working through tough times in a relationship.
“I took her love for granted / She stole my heart and left me stranded / What I’d do to get it all back / My love, my love. / Work it out,” he sings.
His sound is completely diverse and is evident in a record like “Work It Out.”
“I have the gospel background, which is where I get a lot of my soul; the emotion in my playing,” Bloom said. “But my music is ultimately a fusion of many influences. I could never see myself doing one type of music. When anyone asks me who I’d like to work or tour with, I answer everybody.”
Last time Rated R&B heard from Timothy Bloom, he had talked about working with Smokey Robinson on his 2005 album My World: The Definitive Collection and enjoying life as an independent artist.
The Beginning EP, which is the first installment of Bloom’s The Life Trilogy series, is set for release on Oct. 14 via Beyond the Sky Music.
