Whitney Houston may be gone but she is certainly not forgotten. She is a musical legend and “the voice” of our generation. Houston’s legacy will be celebrated yet again with a greatest hits album titled “I Will Always Love You: The Best of Whitney Houston.”
One of the songs featured on the album is Houston’s duet with R. Kelly titled “I Look to You.” The song was written by Kelly and was the title track of Houston’s 2009 album. However, the original version of the song did not feature Kelly. Clive Davis recently called in to “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” to premiere the song:
She went into a studio by herself in Los Angeles and recorded two verses and a chorus of the song ‘I Look to You,’ which R. Kelly had written for her and for our album. I was just knocked out by it. To hear Whitney, as Whitney again, to hear her, the full flower of her voice it really showed the potential when she was ready to record again.
Take a listen to the new version of Houston’s “I Look to You.”
“I Will Always Love You: The Best of Whitney Houston” will release on November 13.
