In 2005, the world was introduced to Trey Songz with his debut single “Gotta Make It.”
The song, produced by Troy Taylor, served as the lead single from his I Gotta Make It album. It also featured a sample from The Ebonys’ song “It’s Forever.” Although the song didn’t dominate the Billboard charts, it did manage to peak at #87 on the Billboard Hot 100.
I Gotta Make It, released in the summer of 2005, debuted at No. 20 on the Billboard 200 and No. 6 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart.
