R&B artists are known for remixing successful single’s with guest artists. In R&B powerhouse Kelly Price’s case, she brought along not one but two legends for her classic, “Friend of Mine,” from her debut album Soul of a Woman.
While the original version topped the Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart, the powerful collaboration landed her one of greatest R&B remixes of all-time. In fact, “Friend of Mine (Remix)” dominated Billboard’s R&B chart for five weeks in 1998 and earned her a Grammy nomination.
